Kangaroo Massacres
In fact, ADIDAS
uses kangoroo skin for football footwear. Approximately
6 millions kangaroos will be executed in 2003,
especially for their flesh for making hand bags,
baseball gloves and football footwear. So we ask
ADIDAS to stop participating in that carnage to
fabricate these goods, otherwise we are not going
to buy their products anymore.
Every night, 10.000 kangaroos are slaughtered
for profit. The quota, to meet demands
of exports, is that 6.9 millions of kangaroos
have to be killed, only for the year 2003.
5 species of kangaroos have been exterminated,
4 other are in the verge of extinction, 7 are
classified ''commercial'' species, wallabies included.
Hunting happens in the middle of the night in
isolated regions where, a ridiculous amount of
national guards are asigned from the states
(6 in Queensland) to regulate hunting.
The Austrian government massively support this
massacre because kangaroo leather brings a lot
of money. And yet the kangaroo plays an essential
role for the ecosystem's balance in Austria. This
animal is their national symbol.
